Pacific Grove

Pacific Grove, Ca – The “Last Home Town

Population – 15,577 (2004)pg_town

Weather – usually foggier than Monterey & many other Peninsula areas. Pacific Grove is often called the “last home town,” because of it’s small town charm and character.

Housing: There are a few larger apartment communities scattered through out the town. Most of the housing is smaller apartments and houses. Lots are closer together and smaller than many other areas. Houses are older.

Pacific Grove is a popular and wonderful place to live. Be ready to share your flowers with the local deer as they wander thru snacking. Raccoons wander thru at night also looking for a hand out, so keep garbage cans closed tightly.

It is also a bird watchers paradise, with both Scrub Jays and Steller Jays, Woodpeckers and many other birds. And since it is “the Butterfly Town” be sure and see the Butterfly Sanctuary. Monarchs by the thousands come to winter in the Equalyptus Groves.

Downtown Area: Great shops and restaurants. Coffee shops are meeting places for the area locals. It is a pedestrian friendly community.

The Pacific Grove Art Gallery holds Art Openings on Friday evenings every few weeks.

Schools: Pacific Grove has it’s onw High School & separate school district from the Monterey School district. And the schools are very popular.

Recreation Trail: runs from the Aquarium to the north. In the spring time the purple ice plant is stunning.
Lover’s Point is a popular spot for picnics, photo shoots, special events and just to hang out.
